10 Best Nike Golf Shoes (2023): Pros, Cons, & Reviews
Major champions Tiger Woods, Jason Day, Brooks Koepka, and Rory McIlroy have all
Major champions Tiger Woods, Jason Day, Brooks Koepka, and Rory McIlroy have all worn Nike golf shoes during their career.
In this post, I reveal the best Nike golf shoes and the strengths and weaknesses of each of these top shoes.
Here are your 10 best Nike golf shoes for 2023:
After reading this post, you will know the top Nike golf shoes for rainy days, sunshine, comfort, and style. Plus, I review the finest options for ladies, juniors, deep-pocket golfers, and the many players operating on a strict budget.
The Air Max 90 G NRG takes top honors in our best Nike golf shoe reviews for their durability, comfort, traction, and all-weather performance. In addition, I managed to smoothly navigate 18 holes without experiencing discomfort, blisters, or pain in my heel.
Despite its breathable capabilities, I thought the Air Max 90 G NRG did well to halt moisture entering the shoes. But, I suggest managing your expectations because its waterproofing is not in the league of the Ecco Biom G3 Gore-Tex golf shoes. However, I applaud the 90 G NRG's moisture control, given it is not specifically built to handle rain.
Although I thought the versatile traction pad grip performed admirably in light rain, I did not receive complete support in heavy downpours. The grip eventually let up, and I slipped on a couple of shots, losing power and control of the golf club.
The high-gripping Nike golf cleats on the Air Zoom Tiger Woods 20’ are a better choice in heavy rain. However, I appreciate the balanced performance of the Air Max 90 G NRG in rain and sun. My feet remained cool, dry, and comfortable in the heat, owing to their breathability, while the same shoes kept light rain out.
Finally, in my experience, it was hard to beat the cloud-like feel of the Max Air heel cushions and foam midsole. Each step was soft and pleasant, and my feet were free of aches and blisters after 18 holes.
Nike golf footwear is not the most affordable option on the market. But, the Roshe G Next Nature shoes highlight that the premium brand still stocks affordable options for bargain hunters. The Roshe G earns our admiration for its entry-level price, breathability, foot support, and outstanding padding.
I enjoyed the constant airflow through the interior of the golf shoes, which controlled moisture build-up during my round. As a result, the shoes ensured comfortable dry feet, allowing me to concentrate on my swing and not my discomfort.
Comfort aside, the Roshe G Next Nature shoes kept my feet firmly secured to the turf in dry conditions, stemming from the Pressure Mapped Outsole. Unfortunately, its performance was less than desirable in the wet, as I lost my footing, and the breathable material allowed water to seep in.
I suggest looking at the Nike Air Zoom Tour Victory 3 as an alternative if your home course is in a high-rainfall area. But, it costs significantly more than the Roshe G.
Next, my feet enjoyed greater security and stability on each step and swing owing to the high sidewall and nested, wraparound heel. Lastly, the Roshe G Next Nature shoes provided impressive comfort and support stemming from the foam midsole cushions.

If you prefer walking the golf course like I do, then a comfortable pair of spikeless golf shoes are in order. I managed to traverse the links without any aches or blisters building up in the Air Max 270 G and appreciated the softness of every step. Plus, I welcomed the breathability and traction provided on dry to moderately soft turf.
Nike reconstructed the upper found on the inaugural Air Max 270, enhancing breathability to manage moisture build-up. However, if you desire a pure breathable shoe for summer, I suggest skipping to the Roshe G2 review.
The Roshe 2 upper made up for it by keeping light quantities of moisture out of the interior, but my feet got soaked in heavy morning dew. However, the texture of the upper is a breeze to clean.
I enjoyed the softness generated on each step by the Max Air unit, which Nike added to the midsole foam. It effectively absorbed the vibrations experienced on landing to emit a plush sensation.
The traction pattern proved effective in light moisture and dry conditions. However, it did not produce the grip I experienced with the Air Zoom Tiger Woods 20’ shoes.
According to Nike, Michael Jordan specifically requested a golf shoe that marries the famed retro style of the series with high-performance technology. I loved the feel, durability, and look of the full-grain leather, and as an African, I was swept away by the elephant print on the heel.
I thrived with the support of the Nike React Technology, which gave me a boost on each step and caught my foot gently on the landing. The optimized cushioning softened the blow and protected my feet over 18 holes.
I thought the Integrated Traction Pattern produced greater friction with the turf than other spikeless designs like the Roshe G. It managed to hold in moderately heavy rain. However, I would still prefer using cleats in the wet.
Next, I noticed the sturdiness of the design, and I am confident these deliver impressive mileage before they give in. My only concern is the Traction Pattern. Once it starts wearing away, you cannot replace them, like you can with cleats. This may leave you with intact leather on the upper and limited grip underneath.
Although spikeless traction pads have evolved significantly, I find they do not offer the equivalent grip as spike golf shoes. Named after the greatest golfer of our generation, the Air Zoom Tiger Woods 20’ shoes kept my feet stable on every swing for optimal rotation and power.
Our best Nike golf spikes help me dig into the turf and reduce the risk of slipping in heavy rain. Besides their outstanding traction, I welcomed their removable design, enabling me to replace them with new, high-gripping Nike golf cleats. This extends the shoes’ lifespan, unlike spikeless constructions on the Jordan ADG4.
Traction aside, the Air Zoom Tiger Woods 20’ shoes delivered a combination of comfort and performance. I was glad the famed React Technology made a cameo, modifying the harshness of each landing, softening the blow, and eradicating vibrations to protect my heel and midsole.
My comfort received a further injection with the padded sock line. It added extra cushioning and most importantly, managed moisture build-up underfoot. Finally, I appreciated the additional support my ankle received from the padded collar, especially during my swing when my ankle rotated.
Golf apparel and footwear often get a bad reputation for being dull and boring. However, Nike changed the narrative with the Air Max 90 G range. Our coolest Nike golf shoes leave you with 12 colors and patterns to choose from.
Despite making a few adjustments, the design team stayed true to the style and feel of the Max 90 G. The most significant change from the original is the thin overlay to improve water resistance and an integrated traction pattern.
I found the traction pattern was adequate for dry rounds, but the moment the ground softened, I started to slip. Especially on high-impact strikes or uneven ground, they did not deliver the grip of our best Nike spike shoes, the Air Zoom Tiger Woods 20’.
Next, I enjoyed every step in these shoes thanks to the plushness of the foam midsole and Max Air heel cushions. The latter was particularly helpful to me, as I have suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past, which causes intense heel suffering after every round.
Cool and breathable golf shoes are essential if you operate in a predominantly warm and sunny area like Southern Florida or Arizona. The Rosh G2 range offers the finest ventilation in the Nike stable and managed to keep my feet and socks cool and dry for 18 holes.
In my experience, the upper mesh produced superb ventilation as I walked the fairways, leaving no chance for sweat to accumulate. The result was a dry, cool interior that eliminated the risk of discomfort on a hot day.
Nike inserted their signature lightweight foam midsole, which I found plush and pleasant on every step taken. It was not as soft and comfortable as the Air Max 270 G, but it was close. The Roshe G2 does get one up on the 270 G, thanks to its more affordable price tag.
I appreciated the work done to optimize the traction lugs on these spikeless shoes, and they were more effective than most of their peers. However, they do not produce the same consistency in wet weather enjoyed on the Tiger Woods Air Zoom 20’.
Ladies traversing the fairways of our finest golf courses will welcome the coziness, style, and support the Nike Infinity Pro 2 offers your feet. In addition, my volunteer for the test appreciated the versatility of the integrated traction pattern, allowing her to walk freely on cart paths, grass, and into the 19th hole.
The downside of the traction pattern was its inconsistency in heavy rain, which caused the odd slip. If you play in high rainfall areas, I feel the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour Next% is a superior option to boost traction.
Moving on to positive pastures, my trusty volunteer applauded the work of the stretchy band, which she mentioned gripped her midfoot and stabilized it while walking and swinging.
One area I can comment on are the looks. I find the gray, lavender combination works a treat, but it struggles to conceal dirt and debris. Thankfully, the haptic print construction simplifies the task of cleaning. I recommend wiping them down with a wet cloth after every round to avoid excessive mud and grime build-up.
Maintenance aside, its breathability received positive feedback from our volunteer and encouraged continuous circulation. This kept her feet refreshed, comfortable, and dry throughout the day.
If you are subjected to constant inclement weather during your rounds, you need high-traction, water-resistant golf footwear. The Nike Air Zoom Tour Victory 3 answered my call by producing superb grip and keeping my feet dry with its water-resistant full-grain leather.
I would rather opt for a fully waterproof design like the Ecco Biom G3 Gore-Tex when playing in wet weather. However, as far as Nike shoes go, these offer the best all-around performance in the rain.
I found the combination of Softspikes Tour Flex Pro cleats and Silver Tornado Spikes, positively lethal. The Tour Flex Pro spikes featured on the forefoot and were backed up by the Silver Tornado units running laterally and at the aft of the shoe. Together they maximized my traction and stability during a downpour to produce a powerful swing.
My stability received an extra boost from the internal strap and Molded 3-D collar. I felt like my feet were locked into place and experienced minimal loss of footing on saturated turf. Next, I welcomed the idea of adding the famed Zoom Air into the upper, which worked to induce forward momentum on every step and swing.
Finally, the cushioned heel cups capped off a comfortable wear as they absorbed the impact of my steps to combat my plantar fasciitis.
If the golf bug has struck your young one, the Roshe G Junior shoes are your top option for traction, comfort, and style. Another significant benefit is breathability, which maximizes circulation through the interior and prevents sweat build-up and subsequent stench.
Nike employed an astute pressure-mapped outsole on the Roshe G Junior shoes to increase friction with the turf. The spikeless design may not prove optimal in the wet. However, the smart outsole delivers better results than most of its cleatless peers.
Ventilation is ever present in the Roshe G Junior shoes, thanks to the perforated mesh upper promoting airflow into the shoes. The abundance of air breaks down moisture and prevents sweat from forming around your youngster's feet and socks.
Lastly, the Injected Midsole creates sublime cushioning to soften the step of junior golfers by absorbing impact vibrations.
You can find Nike golf shoes in a variety of sizes ranging from a men's US 3.5 up to 22. However, some shoes are not crafted in excessively large sizes. The Max 90 G NRG runs up to a 17.5 US size, which is the best option for long feet. Custom-made shoes are the way to go if you require a bigger size.
Nike ladies golf shoes start in a size 5 and run up to 23.5, but the largest size you can typically acquire online is a 12 US. Finally, junior shoe sizes are available for 3.5 to 10.5-year-olds.
Nike does construct spike shoes, but I find they offer a broader selection of spikeless footwear, which is comfortable and ideal for drier conditions or light rain. If rainfall is a common feature in your round, you want a high-traction shoe with replaceable cleats, like the Air Zoom Tiger Woods 20’.
Conversely, golfers gifted with warmer weather can enjoy the breathability, comfort, and support of spikeless golf shoes. Our best overall Nike golf shoes, the Air Max 90 G NRG, are worth considering for their comfort, cushioning, and breathability.
As a wearer of wide-fit golf shoes, I find Nike lacking in this department and typically encounter medium-body footwear. If you are gifted with a regular foot width, you can wear the medium-fit shoes from Nike without hindrance.
However, if medium golf shoes are tight on your feet and cause blisters, Adidas does it better than the "Just Do It" crowd. As an alternative, think about the Adidas ZG21 Wide golf shoes.
Breathable golf shoes work to contain moisture build-up in the interior, keeping your feet cool, dry, and comfortable. Nike offers a wealth of ventilated footwear ideal for warm days on the links. You can identify breathable golf shoes via their perforated mesh, which allows air to enter the shoe and constantly flow.
Although breathable shoes are recommended to enhance comfort, they are problematic in high rainfall. The same vents that allow air to flow prompt moisture to seep in. Even Nike waterproof golf shoes with robust mesh eventually give way to water after combating excessive loads.
If breathability is a deal breaker for your golf shoes, I suggest scoping out the Nike Roshe G2 footwear.
I found the Nike Air Zoom Tour Victory 3 provided the best performance in the wet. On the other hand, its full-grain leather was water-resistant and not waterproof. That means it shed light quantities of rain but struggled under constant bombardment.
Nike engineers did apply a waterproof flexible overlay mesh to shoes like the Air Max 270 G. Yet, I did not find it effective in heavy rainfall. Eventually, my feet did get soaked, but the mesh is efficient in light rain and morning dew.
Nike released the Air Jordan Retro 6G and the Jordan ADG 4 shoes in 2023.
Yes, Nike still makes golf shoes, evidenced by the release of the Air Jordan Retro 6G and Jordan ADG 4 in 2023. However, the brand stopped manufacturing golf clubs, balls, and bags in 2016.
After reviewing the best Nike golf shoes, it is clear the brand stocks a healthier concentration of spikeless golf shoes over their spike counterparts. In addition, I feel there are better options on the market for waterproof golf shoes than those offered by the Beaverton operation.
However, I was impressed with the breathability, comfort, support, and performance of the Nike golf shoes tested. While you can refer back to the individual reviews for our category winners, one pair of shoes stood out above its peers.
The Nike Air Max 90 G NRG claimed top honors in 2023 for its breathability, cushioning, style, and traction in light rain and dry weather.
